    The part about this setting in my /etc/rc.d/rc.sysinit is

        ln -sf /lib/modules/$mver /lib/modules/preferred
        ln -sf /boot/System.map-$mver /boot/System.map
        ln -sf /boot/module-info-$mver /boot/module-info
    fi
