QuickCam and Linux?

My roommate has an old B&W QuickCam that I'm trying to get working with
Linux 2.2..  Unfortunately, doing this is highly undocumented.  I was
wondering if anyone had any luck with this (or video4linux in general,
or anything..)

I'd prefer info relating to the kernel driver in Linux 2.1/2.2, rather
than the user-space(?) drivers for 2.0.x..
