James or Dave (since James said Dave showed him how to use emacs for ChangeLog
entries).

Ok, I did a C-x compile, the compilation output is saved as a buffer in emacs.
I used C-X ` to jump to each error/warning. I correct the error/warning, then
hit C-X 4 a, the ChangeLog comes up in a buffer. Here is where it does not
sync with what James told me on irc.

In my ChangeLog buffer, it says this:

1999-07-13 Bob Tanner <tanner@real-time.com>

	* tools/ltd_dump.c:

James told me that emacs automatically puts certain things into ChangeLog like
the following:

	* robots/roboshar.c (warning): fix arg type
	* tools/fun.c (action): fix prototype to match signal().
	* tools/planets.c (main): remove warning of return type.
	* tools/message.c (main): remove warning of return type.

The stuff in the parens. My thoughts where that by compiling the code in emacs
and using the find errors/warning feature, when I corrected the error the
ChangeLog activation would pick the fact that it was a warning and make the
appropriate entry into the ChangeLog.

Do I need to do something special to get Emacs when I edit a warning/error to
get the stuff in the parens to show up?

Also, can someone post their .emacs setting related to this stuff? By default
my time stamp stuff is different then the rest of you.

Thanks.
