(ASCEND) Xircom C(E)M 28 and Ascend Maxes



Haas anyone noticed particular problems with Xircom CM and CEM 28 PC cards and 
Ascend Maxes?  Do your customers complain "But they connect to our XYZ box"
If so what solutions or work-arounds have you found?  E.g. lower connect 
speeds, differnet firmware releases for Xircom, etc.  We're already using 
latest Max modem firmware.  We have one customer on the warpath, it's hard to 
tell them to buy better modems when they have a couple hundred in the field.
Is there any command that limits a Xircom to 24k?  There is one to limit it to 
14.4, but the customer isn't happy wioth that solution.  (XIrcom said no.)
 
Send mail please, they're stalling my reconnect to the users group, different 
email address in header and body, they'd prefer to reply to the att mail 
server, I guess.
