Our RADIUS proxy server uses the class attribute to get extra authorisation
info into the accounting records.
The way the Class attrib is described in the RADIUS RFC suggests such use of
it.
The IETF roamops working group, however, has a draft with guidelines for RADIUS
proxying in roaming conditions, and in that draft they propose a completely
different use for the Class attribute (something to do with a RADIUS server
session ID), which is useless IMO.

servers. Has anyone used the radius class attribute (25) to inform the
accounting process of the type of service delivered to the user?
