RE: (ASCEND) Pipeline 50 Config Question
Can you configure different connection profiles to use different
authentication methods?
i.e. PAP-TOKEN-CHAP for logging in to work (we use ACE SecurID security
cards )
and simple CHAP for my ISP??
If not, its something else "that needs to be changed, IMHO"

PMJI, but this is something that burned me today. This gateway
setting is not
configurable on a per-connection basis. You can change most
everything else
(except "My name" which is rather important :( ) from the
individual connection
profiles once you realize that most of the "Configure" section
is just a
convenient way to change profile 1, but not this. The downside
of this is that
changing profiles is not just as easy as disabling the current
and activating
another, but that plus making sure the "My name" field is
correct and making
sure the gateway is correct. Something that needs to be
changed, IMHO.
BTW, using a P50 w/ software version 5.0B (one of the new ones).
