Well LQM and VJ don't seem to do much harm and I try to avoid the rest.
The biggest performance boost I encountered some time ago is to set
Ethernet->Mod Config->TServ options->
Packet Wait time=50
Packet characters=30
instead of the default 0. (At least with old V.34 modem cards)
There is a an overall increase of some 10% in download througput.
As a side effect, the Rx Pkt display gets much more reasonable and
hex2ppp has much less hazzle with async ppp debug output from wanxxx. :-)
