RE: (ASCEND) SNMP-Traps for Session Up/Down

No the Max does not send a trap with each session. That is a Cisco thing. We send a start and stop record via Radius or Tacacs+. Alternately, we record each event in an Event MIB. A trap is not the proper mechanism - it was not intended to be used in such a high volume environment.

Subject:	(ASCEND) SNMP-Traps for Session Up/Down

Hi,

is there a way to make a Max 4000 (5.0i13)
send snmp-traps whenever a Session goes Up or Down?

I thought it can, but setting Alarm, Port and Security=Yes
does not do the trick, are there other toggles or SNMP-variables?

Thanks,
	Christian Vogel
