Re: (ASCEND) PacBell, SPIDs, ISPs and Pipelines, oh my!
In PacBell land you have to dial 1+10 digits for ISDN if you want 64K data
connections. If you do normal 7 digit dialling for local calls you are
limited to 56K data. The only exception is if both ends of the connection
are on the same central office switch.
PacBell made a big deal of telling subscribers this when they introduced
64K data connection capability a couple of years ago.
