I assume this is actually an async<->sync converter like the Pipeline 15
or the 3com Courier I-modem or Sportster ISDN 128K or Adtran Express EX?
Or do you actually have a sync card in your PC?

If so, keep in mind that the PPP stack being used to talk to the MAX is
actually in the T/A.  The T/A may request options that the PPP implementation
on the personal computer does not know or understand.

Which brand/model and firmware revision of terminal adapter are you using?
