To do IP traffic accounting and statistics on our Ascend routers I wrote a little daemon. It is reading traffic information by SNMP (ifInOctets and ifOutOctets) at regular time intervals and writes the numbers to a logfile. Accounting of several interfaces on one router is available at once. Further processing and visualisation of traffic information has to be done by Perl scripts etc. For anyone interested in this program it is available at <A HREF="ftp://ftp.iks-jena.de/pub/mitarb/erik/admin/traflogd-0.9.tar.gz">ftp://ftp.iks-jena.de/pub/mitarb/erik/admin/traflogd-0.9.tar.gz</A> It requires the CMU SNMP library and has been tested on Linux and Digital Unix so far.
