I think I didn't come across right. You don't compare apples with oranges. You don't compare a Mack Truck with a Volkswagen. The GRF is a multiprocessor scaleable router/switch. All Cisco routers are single processor (perhaps with an attached VIP) shared bus. That's why they can't scale as high as the GRF. The GRF architecure loads all the Internet routes local in the media card. The Cisco tries to cache the routes, but it can't cache them all. I could go on and on, but you should get a local Ascend rep to explain it to you. Now Cisco has seen the light and is coming out with an device which promises to have the scalability that the GRF does. But realistically, it will be a year or more before it has the maturity of the GRF.
