I am biased, I admit. All I heard so far was about Max breaking down if they
even touch OSPF and 1-2 PRIs. I expect that there will be 50-200 routes in
the OSPF table at any given time and constant changes.
Will this work? You have an @ascend address, I will hold you to your word
;-)
And what software release should be used? I have had personal bad experience
with trying to upgrade our stuff to any of 6.x.x.

It will just be IGP. The backbone area is well defined and consists of
routers 3620 and up.
