(ASCEND) ISDN on Max 4002/4048?
Hi, all. I've been avoiding this post for a month, now, but I have to swallow
my pride and just ask:
We have a Max 4002 (temporarily replacing a 4048) which supposedly does allow
ISDN dialups. For the life of me, though, I cannot seem to get a user
connected. A large part of the problem is undoubtedly that I have no ISDN
experience, and don't have the terminology to ask the right questions.
While I plow through the ISDN FAQ again, could someone take pity and provide a
simple walkthrough of what I need to configure to allow home ISDN dialup users
to connect with PPP to do simple IP routing? Nothing fancy needed. The
software is 5.0Ap33 with (theoretically) ISDN enabled. Single PRI, single
MAX, with a bunch of existing analog dialup users to which we want to add ISDN
callers as well.
And if I'm missing the blindingly obvious, please do point it out. We're in a
"learn as we go" situation here, and without some of the foundations, I'm
having a heck of a time locating information on my own. Any pointers to good
introductory material (online preferably, printed if that's what it takes)
would also be welcomed.
Thanks for your patience and your help.
-Steve.
