RE: (ASCEND) installing access control on nt
Make sure that the following files are present in the directory:
License
Licenses
License.txt
Licenses.txt
That should cover it (they should all be a copy of the original license
file that AAC generated on the install.
This solved the problem for me.

Subject: (ASCEND) installing access control on nt
Hello all,
I was curious at to whether anyone has had success with
installing Access
Control 1.0ai11 on Windows NT 4.0 (SP3).
I've tried installing 2 different builds 1.0ai10 and
1.0ai11. The install
completes successfully, I enter my hostname and demo
license key, then
reboot.
Upon reboot, I attempt to start the daemon from the AC
admin tool.
However, it throws an error saying that RadiusSrv
service failed to start
on \\hostname (hostname of the computer which also
matches the windows
computer name).
Looking in event viewer, there's a description that:
c:\Ascend\Access~1\Database\licenses.txt could not be
found.
Now, the license file that was created did not have a
file type suffix
upon creation of the license key. The DOS name was
simply licenses.
I tried adding the .txt but still could not get the
radius daemon to
start.
Normally, I would install radius on BSDI. However, there
is a business
need for this application to authenticate into an NT
domain.
Any help would be appreciated.
regards,
jeff
