(ASCEND) Routing outbound calls with 2 Maxen
Configuration
2 Maxen (5.0Ap36) on the same ethernet network
4 Pri sharing the same call number, 2 on Max 1, 2 on Max 2
Inbound calls may arrive on Max 1 or Max 2
No outbound calls
For customers with fixed IP adress, information is taken from radius profiles, Max local profiles are not used
Max advertise their routes via RIP
Situation
Everything is OK
Evolution needed
We have to connect a customer who will need outbound call from one of our Maxen to a P50 on his network
The P50 will be configured to iniate call back (in order to have the customer support the cost of the communication)
Possible Solution ???
Install a local profile for this customer (on the 2 Maxen)
On Max 1 : down pref = 120, down metric=7
On Max 2 : down pref=130, down metric=8
The 2 Max will advertise the route to the customer with the down metric and preference
When the customer iniate a call from his P50, the Max which receive the call advertises the route to the customer
with (up) metric and preference
When the call is initiated from the internet, it should be routed via Max 1 (better down pref)
- Max 1 calls the P50
- The P50 doesn't answer to the call
- The P50 calls back
- The calls arrives on Max 1 or Max 2, this Max now advertises the route to the customer
with (up) metric and preference
Ooops .....
This seems quite complicated and I have lost confidence in Ascend software
Has anybody tried such a solution ?
Has anybody a better solution ?
An other solution should be to request from my telco a second call number assigned to only 1 Max
Not very clever but should work
