(ASCEND) Pipeline 50 V 6.0.2 resetting frequently

Hello,

we are using a Pipeline50 Software V 6.0.2 to connect a WIN NT machine to
our ISP.
The WIN NT has 2 NICs, 1 for our internal network, 1 for the external
connection to the pipeline via a cross-over ethernet cable.

Our problem is that the pipeline is resetting frequently a couple of times
a day. 
Nobody so far was able to track down the problem.
We have 
- changed the pipeline unit; the other machine showed the same behaviour
- changed the NIC, no effect
- changed the crossover cable, no effect
- had software v 5.0, then upgraded to 6.0.2, no effect

All we know is that the pipeline will only reset after ethernet traffic
(for instance when opening a telnet session with the pipeline, but not
always then)


Does anybody have any ideas?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
