(ASCEND) Requesting all comments...

Hi y'all:

Tech Pubs has been working to improve our documentation, both in content
and structure. About a year ago, we asked for comments on what we should do
to improve the documentation we provide. We received a ton of good
comments, and have incorporated a lot of them.

We are planning on making more improvements, and wanted to make sure you
had a chance to voice any opinions you have. (Do you EVER have any
opinions?) ;^)

We appreciate any comments, from "It's perfect" to "What is this cr*p? I
can't even read it", but we would appreciate that you be as SPECIFIC as you
can in your comments.

The major change we are planning is adding a "Real examples" section,
illustrating sample configurations, including a detailed graphic,
description of the environment, and config dump of the pertinent MAX
parameters. The plans are to include the following sample environment:

- Typical (or as close as we can come) ISP environment
- Corporate IP-routed environment
- IPX-routed environment
- AppleTalk-routed environment
- OSPF environment
- ATMP environment
- Multicast environment

Any others you would like to see? (or any from the above list that we
should chuck?)

Also:

Currently, on which type of doc do you rely on the most? Printed manuals,
Release Notes, CD, etc.?
Which format works best for you: Printed, CD, HTML, etc.?
Does the detail (or lack thereof) in the documentation work for you? Should
we provide more conceptual discussions, examples, etc...or less?
How satisfied are you with the documentation itself?
How satisfied are you with how we release documentation and make it available?

We honestly appreciate any and all suggestions. We will attempt to
incorporate as many suggestions as possible, hoping to improve the
documentation for everyone.

Please send all comments directly to dmiller@ascend.com and
msimonid@ascend.com in the Tech Pubs department...

Thanks a lot for any help...
