I don't know much about that TR, either ;)
What I know is that a ticket we opened with EMEA Support was cross-
linked to that TR so I assume it is a TR that deals with the issue we
described in the ticket. As we (still) cannot look into a database of
open TRs nor FRs I cant tell you the exact description of the TR (not
that the short descriptions are too intuitive, anyway). So what's that
ticket we opened about ?
We upgraded a Max1800 that used a dialed PPP ISDN link to connect to
the Internet to a 2 B-Channel leased ISDN line. Due to Ascend weirdness
we must use MP+ and Nailed/Mpp on the link to drive both channels,
while MP would suffice in a normal world, but I won't rant about that
anymore. The problem is, the customer did have an ASA firewall on the
profile that connects to the Internet. After upgrading the line, the
ASA all of a sudden did not pass certain traffic it should pass due
to the installed security policy and _did_ pass as long as one channel
was in use only. Even better, it starts to work as expected as soon
as we disable one of the leased channels, so it is not a MP+ issue,
but a multilink issue - ASA on a profile with more than one active
connection in a bundle seems to work incorrect. Now at least it does
not open up holes but actually refuses correct traffic, but who knows
exactly whether the reverse cannot happen ? Now we have the same
problem with a P50 customer and others on this list described the same
issue in certain setups (all involving MPP).
I don't want to rant here (yet), but I'm warming up...
