(ASCEND) Multi-ip NAT problems
Hello,
I am having problems with Multi-IP NAT on my Ascend P75 (I think rev
6.1.0). I have purchased the right to
use only one dynamic assigned IP from my ISP. So I only get my first
one-to-one IP mapping on dialout. But I want to
get around issues with some UDP based apps. So I use the following setup.
clients on net 192.168.2.0/24 <-> 192.168.2.1 <-> Linux
Router<->192.168.1.2<->
net 192.168.1.0/24<->192.168.1.1<->P75<->dynamic ip
from isp
I have set up the Linux router to work with ip masq. and port fowarding,
with no direct routing. So the only
thing that should be coming out of the interface 192.168.1.2 should have
that src address only. For some
reason I can not get Multi-IP NAT to work (Single-IP NAT seems to work
fine). Is there away to determine
what is initiating the dial-out, from what src. I am concerned that some
ips other then 192.168.1.2 getting
through my Linux router non-NAT (I doubt this). Also I noticed when my
Linux box boots sometimes the p75
dials out. Then i try to ping some DNS servers from my ISP and I can not
reach them.(I would assume that the
p75 dialout from some possible broadcast etc from interface 192.168.1.2)
But if that is the case I should
beable to get out but I cant.
I can ping from a client on 192.168.2.0/24 to 192.168.2.1,192.168.1.2, and
192.168.1.1 but not anything on the otherside of the p75.
BTW - I did get this setup to work a couple months ago with a linux box
router....but i crashed and i didnt have
a backup <doh>. So with a new backup plan in place I cant reproduce the
results <double doh>.
