Well, the telco has to do the usual thing: Provide a good and short wire
from SLIC (Subscriber Line InterfaCe) to subscriber, and have a good SLIC.
The ISP should do ATS202=32 to enable high transmit level. Some reservations
though, since I have never touched an Ascend box myself. Try RTFM to be sure.
I usually work with the "other end", but we have spent some time persuading
ISPs to do this here in Sweden, since we're *not* under FCC restrictions,
and have a good phone network. Still, 56000 is a rare thing here too.
The subscriber modem should work without changes. At least ours do...
