Re: (ASCEND) DAMN 6.1.7
The problem appears to me to be that if you are running a Max in any form
other than just one type of service, like modems, you will have problems.
I have an 1800 and a 2024 running K56Flex and 6.1.0. I have never had
problem one with them. They also are just used for inbound modems. No
ISDN, Stacking, OSPF, Frame, DHCP, or Firewall. Just inbound modems
authenticated via RADIUS.
I also have 1800 running 6.1.0 that are just ISDN in only. Again, no
problems and many have been up for several months.
However, my 4000s choke or puke on everything since 6.0.0. I was running
6.1.3 and it was fairly stable, however it started getting slower over time.
So I tried 6.1.7, ISDN customers stopped working all together and I droped
back to 6.1.0, since I had good luck with it on all my other Max-es running
it... Well, I was informed of problems with 6.1.0 by other readers and
they were right. After about 5 days, it stops authenticating ISDN users
and then soon after stops authenticating modem users. I guess it is back
to 6.1.3. The slow down took almost a month to kick in. I would rather
reboot every 20 days than every 5... I would really rather not reboot
at all. :)
