Having the PC point to the P75 as it's gateway will defeat this, as the
P75 will try to route via connection #1.

I cannot see why this part (the PING) would not work unless you have some
kind of filters setup between the home PC and the P25 (A)....

When you setup the second gateway on the home PC, did that replace the
original one? When setup with the office connection, can you ping the 
devices between the PC and the P25 (A)?
