To check, issue the command AT+MS?

You should see:

*** Ascend modem pool server ***
Server ready.

 Connected to modem 3:14...
at+ms?
56,1,300,33600,1,0,56000



If you see the fifth field as a 0, then it is set the wrong way, and you
need to issue the command:

at+ms=,,,,1

(the commas are 'cos the first 4 fields are OK).
