(ASCEND) MAX USS100 power supplies

There was some discussion a while back about replacing the US70's in a
MAX4000 with USS100's - well, ours finally blew and we now have 2 new
USS100's on the workbench. The pin connectors that connect the two units
are the same as on the US70's, but at the other end the 70's have an 8-pin
connector and the 100's have a 14-pin (12 is a blank). This is the end that
goes next to the MAX motherboard's main power connector, thru a y-cable.
Any advice on which end of the 14 to use, and is it the same on both units?
I would *assume* we use 1-8, but everyone knows where that can get you and
I kinda hate to plug them in for a voltmeter test with no load...

thx much,
-Ted
