I appreciate everyone's quick and ample feedback on this issue. It's nice
to know that the list is useful still for aiding your peers instead of just
crabbing about Ascend.

I neglected to mention one key ingredient to my problem which seems to be
the reason why none of the suggestions that people provided has worked.
It's a frame relay connection. For whatever reason, the Pipeline is not
carrying traffic on the wan port up to layer 3 before discarding it. So
mapping all external telnet to port 23 on the LAN interface is not working.
Bug? I think so...

In any case, I appreciate everyone's response and I will let the list know
if/when we find a resolution.
