(ASCEND) TNT or Maxes?

What would be the advantages of using a TNT instead of several stacked
Maxes and vice-versa?

Obviously, administering one server is easier, but wouldn't several servers
be less risky? Also, doesn't one TNT start to get a bit taxed when it
starts nearing capacity, whereas several Maxes would have their loads
spread apart? Are there different models of TNTs available now?

If this makes any difference, this scenario would be only for dial-up
analog and ISDN calls.
