Ignore that. When you are using the serial port or other non ISDN
connection the information is meaningless since the connection speed is
(as you would expect) the clock rate on the serial port.

Yes, the LM in LMI stands for Link Management. The more common one is ANSI
T1.617D (aka AnnexD), but as long as both sides agree it's fine.

Link Management uses keepalives to check the link status, is used so one
or both sides can discover PVCs that are configured and/or active, and
may have other functions I am either forgetting or am not aware of.
