Re: (ASCEND) Max 4004 Stable Code Release
Do NOT upgrade your firmware to 7.0.3!!!! We did so on our 5 MAXen (4004's
and 4048) about three weeks ago. On the upside, it increased the stability
of our v.90 connections. On the downside there is a nasty memory leak
which causes the boxes to reboot sporadically about once every 3-5 days.
We have these MAX stacked, and are also seeing occasional zombification of
our ISDN clients when one of them reboots. Ascend is being fairly
unresponsive, assuring me that the ticket is in the engineer's "hot list".
How reassuring. I would recommend sticking with something more stable
unless you enjoy getting up in the middle of the night.
