RE: (ASCEND) 4048 and v.34 question

ftik.m40 is a load for the 56k modems.  You need to load fti.m40 before you
have even half a chance to use the v34 modems.  I don't believe you'll have
much luck though.  The 4048s were sold as a non-upgradable package.  I
believe this would include putting v34 modems in them.  It's worth a try
though.
