Re: (ASCEND) using PPTP on our max2000



Nowadays, L2TP would be preferred.
Before L2TP their were 3 main tunnelling protocols.
1) L2F
2) PPTP
3) ATMP
L2TP attempts to take the best bits of each.
I recommend you using L2TP, because there are many more Tunnel
terminators to choose from.
There are a number of Lucent Terminators, as well as Windows NT itself.
Windows NT now supports PPTP and L2TP.
Basically, L2TP gives you more choice.
