Re: (ASCEND) The computer you are dialing into cannot establish a dialup connection...



At an ISP I was working we had..... counts about 400 odd SINGLE modems
connected to terminal servers.
easy modem had a phone number and stepped.. once in a while a modem stopped
answering. Finding
which modem it was was a HUGE hassel.. Also they used alot of power.. But it
was a wonderful display of lights
when you turned the lights off. We had it all custom racks made up for it
all. all on UPS etc.. and one day the power went off and we where greatfull
for them. Until we realised the airconditioners where not onto UPS's (only
on mains power)(we never thought of it) and the room overheated and we had
to turn them all off anyway :(
