Ah yes. I remember when we had modems and PM2s. Sometimes the modems 
would just stop working and when we called tech support the tech 
managed to convey in a very roundabout way that perhaps removing the 
modems from their casings might allow them to run cooler, not that 
they run hot of course. Presto!

And I recall the disappointment when our first Max 4000 showed up and 
it only had four lights on it. Boo! And then the TNT. LEDs on the 
front: zero. Welcome to the big(ger) leagues. Fun has been engineered 
out. <sigh> Thank God for our Ethernet switches. Flashy flashy.
