 Just as a clarification here:

 Primary ftp server != CVS repository.  Primary ftp server still only has
'official' releases, and once something has been officially released for a
version, it does not change.

 If you don't have access to the CVS repository, you can still grab nightly
snapshots at
http://langmuir.EECS.Berkeley.EDU/pub/peterm/crossfire/todays_snapshot/
