Exactly what I do on all my machines, from my wimpy P2-333/128mb at home
to my P3-600 at work. I use WindowMaker, which, running on this machine at
1600x1200 with a nice theme, only uses 4mb of memory. Show me a full-blown
Gnome desktop that can do that! Of course, I don't have all the pretty
Gnome icons or anything, but all I really use X for is to manage my
virtual terminals in a nice way, and run Netscape/VMWare occasionally.
