Changing display modes in X.

I recently installed redhat from ftp here at work. Durring the install
process I configured X windows and selected 640x480 and 1240x768 video
modes. Now when I start X it defaults to 640x480. It seems that
XF86Config has disappeared off the system, however it's manfiles are
installed. Anyone know what's going on? I'd like to know how to get the
graphical configuration utility, but more urgently how can I get to a
higher res video mode.
