PC100 memory is memory that works at the speed of 100MHz.  For a long
time, memory has been accessed at speeds like 33MHz or 66MHz.

The memory has to have pretty quick access times to operate with new
processors that run at several hundred MHz...  IIRC, memory speed has to
be something on the order of 8ns to qualify as PC100.
