Re: [TCLUG:6787] Gnome doesn't logout.
How are you starting gnome? I ran into that problem when I started it
the the panel command in my .xinitrc file. If you have the latest gnome,
use the gnome-session command.
FYI: panel was used if you didn't want to save your desktop when you
exit, and gnome-session if you did want to save it. With the latest
gnome, gnome-session handles both.
