Back Orifice 2000

Just read a very interesting article on Back Orifice 2000 on slashdot. 

While I understand this is a hackers tool, does Back Orifice (for Win95)
REALLY do what this article says?

It reads like WinFrame or PCAnywhere, but open source and can run on your
linux box. So, it would be a admin's dream :-)

So, anyone here worked/played with this software? Can it be used for good
things like remote admin of a Windoze machine via a linux box?
