Hmm, what problems are you having?  I've had good luck with ATI's Rage Pro
Turbo boards including the Xpert 98.  With 8 megs you can run in 1280x1024
in 32-bit color.

I just picked up an ATI Xpert 98 AGP 8MB for $52, which seemed
pretty reasonable and 3.3.3.1 auto-probes everything...I just used a
generic XF86Config. 

You are using the Mach64 server, right?
