There's also a new HOWTO on "deuglifying" the fonts on X.  I believe I saw
the reference on Slashdot or Freshmeat.

I installed xfsft, one of the TrueType font servers. It does a very nice
job of rendering TrueType (and Type1) fonts in Netscape and the GIMP. I
found a nice HOWTO recently on installing it, but I can't remember where.
I'll try to track it down.
