If you don't have a fast internet connection don't
download linux.  You can order CD's from http://www.linuxmall.com and 
http://www.linuxcentral.com for under $2.

If you do have a fast connection get WSFTP or 
something (go to www.tucows.com and find an ftp
client).  That way you can select a bunch of
files to download at once. 

Also check at http://www.slackware.com for info
about slackware.
