In addition to xfstt that was mentioned previously, you might want to
consult http://www.sfu.ca/~yzhang/linux/truetype/ and consider using
xfsft. The webpage contains a very nice set of instructions on setting
this up. I've been using it now for several weeks, and it works very well.
Netscape looks *much* better using TT fonts, and the GIMP has many more
fonts available as well. xfsft using the FreeType library and seems a
little more complete that xfstt. Good luck.
