SANE is the way to go. I have been using it for over a year now with no problems. As long as your SCSI works in linux, and SANE supports your scanner, it should work. Read the docs that come with it. It's pretty easy to install and setup. There is even a plug-in so you can scan pictures right into the GIMP. Read the scanimage and xscanimage man pages for more info. Clay
