I was told that the "hacker" they interviewed was 14 years old.. representing a
large community of people, not something for a 14 yearold...

btw.. as far as system cracking/exploiting.. 

a bugtraq annoucement (with code) was posted affecting large number of
slackware/redhat wu-ftpd servers.  anonymous, or real user accounts.. allowing
shell access.  proftpd was not listed as being affected, nor the latest debian
wu-ftpd packages.
