Fun with SCSI, part deux: DTC3280A+ST296N

Greetz all--

I'm having more fun with SCSI, trying to get a 486 of mine to boot off of
a seagate SCSI hard drive (ST296N) connected to a DTC 3280A host adapter.
The adapter works fine, and debian's install reads the hard drive fine
too, but I can't get the partition table to stick on the disk after a
reboot, or even after closing cfdisk and re-running it. No error messages
from the kernel or from cfdisk either -- as far as the programs are
concerned, the partition table is written fine. Any ideas?

Peace,
Kevin Bullock
