Thanks for all the help..... I ended up doing a custom install and it actually gave my a choice of creating a boot disk. From the boot disk all is well. Without it, it still freezes up, linux loader is messed up somehow. Getting into the bios via f10 never worked. As for now, I have no problems booting from the disk.....its being used as a server.
