Samba nmbd problem

Someone just mentioned how simple Samba was to set up. I'm afraid my mileage
has varied. Could someone give me a hand with my first Samba server setup?
I can configure Samba on TUXBOX just fine from a remote machine using swat,
but can't make nmbd happy.

My WINS server (an NT Server) is on 10.0.0.2, TUXBOX on 10.0.0.12. nmbd is
complaining of inavalid arguments. Here's an excerpt from the log.nmb:

   [1999/11/29 10:18:47, 1] nmbd/nmbd.c:main(684)
     Netbios nameserver version 2.0.5a started.
     Copyright Andrew Tridgell 1994-1998
   [1999/11/29 10:18:47, 0] libsmb/nmblib.c:send_udp(754)
     Packet send failed to 10.0.0.2(137) ERRNO=Invalid argument
   [1999/11/29 10:18:47, 0] nmbd/nmbd_packets.c:send_netbios_packet(170)
     send_netbios_packet: send_packet() to IP 10.0.0.2 port 137 failed
   [1999/11/29 10:18:47, 0] nmbd/nmbd_nameregister.c:register_name(362)
     register_name: Failed to send packet trying to register name TUXBOX<20>

I can ping 10.0.0.2 from TUXBOX ok, and vice-versa. TUXBOX was just built
from scratch last week using a 6.1 RedHat distro CD.
