RE: [TCLUG:9091] DSL woes



1) When I set up mine (to quote Bob Tanner) I had to telnet in with my
windows box and set it to bridge mode.  

2) When I installed Red Hat, it asked me how IP numbers were assigned, pick
DHCP.

3) When your system boots does lo and eth0 come up?  If so, and no Maybe go
into linuxconf and check and make sure your host and ip address is listed.
Mine is 127.0.0.1, host is localhost@localdomain.

4) Check in advanced properties (edit|properties|advanced) in netscape.  In
proxies, the "direct connection to the internet" should be checked.

That's about all I can tell you.  You may want to try to ping your 'doze box
to see if the NIC is actually working.
