MediaOne Roadrunner 2-way service! Yay! I'm fired!

Just got this e-mail an hour ago. X'ed out phone # and name but the rest is
verbatim:

>CONGRATULATIONS!
>
>You're RoadRunner area has been updated to a two-way node. Our records show
>you currently are using our 1-way service. With our 2-way you will be
>capable of receiving our services with out any longer having to use a phone
>line and faster speeds. This will not increase the monthly cost and we will
>upgrade/install the 2 way service for free. Call me at XXX-XXX-XXXX ext.
>XXXXX or e-mail me at X@mediaOne.com to schedule your upgrade.>
>
> X X

I live in Hilltop. Yes, the 6 block by 6 block "city" in the middle of
Columbia Heights (Minneapolis). You don't know how happy I am to get
two-way service and forever leave the hell of MediaOne's dial-up modem
banks.

"What the hell does this have to do with Linux?" you ask. Well, I'm the
co-maintainer of the current Linux SB1000 Reference page
(http://linuxpower.cx/~cable/) and this blessing means I have to return my
sb1000 modem as of November 3rd. So Ralph, I'm afraid you're going to have
to be on your own.

My last piece of advice regarding the SURFboard 1000 1-way modems and Linux:
use the 2.2.12 or later kernel! Everything earlier was in flux, buggy, or
required a separate install of the sb1000.o module.

Thanks,
